October 09, 2009Do you remember any of your childhood birthday parties? If so, do you have a favorite? I honestly don't remember much about mine, but I do have a new favorite. A friend passed along this blog post from BirdDogPress and what Allison did for her son's 3rd birthday party puts those little paper hats from the drug store to shame. With the theme of yellow (his favorite color), she created an entire backyard party with classics and kid favorites like pin-the-tail-on -the-donkey, bubbles, and cupcakes.
While the kids obviously loved the games and candy, the adults must have loved the attention to detail in the homemade games and color-themed sweets. Allison is the owner of BirdDogPress -- a vintage style design and letter press company with very modern sensibilities like eco-friendly paper -- and as you can see a very gifted graphic designer, I mean, she even gave her son his own logo.
As the kids played games, they won tickets. Then could redeem their tickets fat the prize booth for candy, bubbles, noisemakers, and sidewalk chalk (all yellow, of course).
