Yellow is such a happy color. I especially love it outside, where it pops against green grass and trees. Paired with black and white, it's chic, but still fun.
Painting your front door is an easy, inexpensive update that can be finished in a day. Choose a high-gloss finish, and make sure it's an outdoor formula. If you love this ring door knocker as much as I do, check out Restoration Hardware's version.
I love to see outdoor spaces dressed as nicely as indoor spaces. When hosting a patio party, why not bring your favorite pillows outside? I love this yellow trellis-inspired print.
Okay, so maybe this adorable bicycle has nothing to do with decorating (aside from those fantastic carriage house-style garage doors), but I couldn't help but include it. My husband is a very serious bike rider (ahem, cyclist) and he's dying for me to join him. If I had this pretty little thing to ride, I just might!
Hope you're all having a lovely Labor Day!

You might think an outdoor shower is a luxury reserved only for beach houses, but as long as you have spigot and a little creativity you too can have an outdoor shower. After a hot summer afternoon at the pool, working in the garden, or after a jog, what could be better than to cool off with a quick rinse in an outdoor shower? They are easy to install and you can make them as basic or elaborate as you wish.
After just a few minutes on weather.com and you'll know the country is a climate roller coaster: never ending storms in the northeast, flooding in the mid-region, droughts in the west, and an oppressive heat wave in the south. What has the weather done your garden plans? For me, it has turned me inwards to houseplants, well actually, to their much more sophisticated and chic cousin: terrariums.
I received this orphan rose bush (and by receive, I mean pulled out of a compost pile where it had been left to, well, decompose) and decided to give it a new home at my house. Roses, in general, are one of my favorite flowers. And from coast to coast, you can grow them at home.
Time for a front entry makeover? Check out ours! Now, my husband is not convinced of the color, but we're going to try it for a while and see. Because there are orange tones in the brick, a friend chose a red with an orange tone so that it worked with the house, not against it.
Here's how I did it... And no, I didn't choose blue door handles, the painter's tape is still there. :)
I have to admit spring is my absolute favorite season, hands down. Sure, I love the fall for football games and the leaves changing colors. Summer is great for beach trips and laying out. Winter... well, winter is my least favorite season, except for the holidays -- I love those! But now that the sun is shining, and the temperature is warming up, you just can't help being in a cheery mood!
This week I have been going through some of our gardening and outdoor living galleries, which has made me even more excited for the bright colors spring brings.
I dont have a front yard, backyard, or even a small grassy area to dream of planting a garden at my apartment. Luckily, we have an abundance of galleries full of information on container gardens and spring planting information that will be handy for planting a few potted pansies on my small balcony.
