When white is done right

Ss_100674293

I am convinced you can add a fresh coat of white glossy paint to pretty much anything and it will look amazing (painted floors, old tables, dingy cabinets), but when layered and combined together, an all-white room it really can look exquisite. No matter the style, the look is clean, fresh, and allows you to add a touch of color as you choose (I love the above kitchen -- especially the way the light greens and bright orange pop). The same is true with the bathroom, porch, and living room below. The slightest details really stand out against the white backdrop.

The key to pulling this look off is to experiment with different textures of white pieces, or have something natural and dark to ground the look (such as the large plant or wood floors), and just because something is white doesn't mean it should not be pretty. Add accents with interest and meaning into the mix. I love the detailing of these pieces and think they're the perfect feminine touch to a room.

I completely agree! I pretty much paint everything white! I have so many cans of white paint in my basement it is hard to stop myself:) It just looks so clean and fresh!
